A little fact about me: I HATE eyeballs. They disgust me. Gross, gross, gross. I have a pretty strong stomach and things don't bother me much but to watch someone put a contact in their eye, is VERY disturbing to me. My sister always pesters me with taking her finger and putting it on her eyeball. GROSS!
Let me back track a little. When I got an office job 8 years ago, I had horrible headaches from staring at a computer screen all day. I went to the optometrist and left swearing that I would never go back. I explained to them that I had an irrational fear of eyeballs. I endured all the procedures, left there with dilated eyes and was told I could drive home. I couldn't even see well enough to make it out of the parking lot much less be able to drive 15 miles home so I ended up wandering around the shopping center for 3 hours until I was able to see to drive home.
After I had Audrey, my vision started getting worse. Not so bad that I coudn't see anything but I would have to squint to make out street signs and things like that. So I reluctantly made an appointment to get my eyes checked.
Thank heavens for technology. You no longer have to have your eyes dilated. They can use a computer instead of drops to see what they need. No fear of the optomitrist anymore! After a much more pleasant experience I was told that sure enough I needed glasses. I have some co-workers who laugh at me because my RX is like 0.25 or something like that. I really don't know. Anyway, these co-workers think it is funny because they would be considered legally blind with an RX of -5.75 or something like that. This whole having-to-wear-glasses-because-you-can't-see thing is new to me.
So last night while driving home from work. Abby asked me a question so I moved the rear view mirror down to see her. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and noticed something about my glasses.
THEY WERE CROOKED!
How long have I been walking around wearing crooked glasses? Seriously, I have been wearing crooked glasses for who knows how long? Well at least I know that I am not very vain since I haven't notice this!
