No pictures to post but I will tell you that our little garden is coming along. Each of our 3 tomato plants have tiny yellow flowers on them that hopefully will produce some juicy tomatos in the next few months. They all got cages around them last night.
We have thinned out our green beans which was really hard for me to do since our plants were so pretty. I ended up giving about 10 nice plants to my best friend's dad. I hope they grow for him.
Speaking of flowers, we also have a nice big orange/yellow bloom on our zuchinni plant. Super excited about that.
We have lost yet another cucumber plant thanks to my husband. He went to pick the leave up and it snapped in two. Not sure if I am willing to plant another since this will make #3 but I really want some cucumbers!
Anyway that is it. Still trucking along and enjoying my girls checking out the plants. I think this is a little slow going for them but they like to go see how the garden is doing each night.
What are your thoughts on fertilizers and pesticides? We are having some problems with things eating our leaves and I don't think is it Devil Rabbit that is doing it.

I personally don't have a problem with fertilizers, but you could add compost for a natural fertilizer.
ReplyDeleteFor pest control there are a lot of different methods that are more green depending on what your pest is. For a lot of things if you spray a solution of dish soap and water on the leaves is repels bugs. For crawling insects you could sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the plants.
