Hurry up ham carbonara

Let me preface this by saying I have never made carbonara before this and was a little concerned that my family, particularly the little ones, wouldn't enjoy it. It got a thumbs up from all of us. It was super good and very easy to make.

Ingredients:
8 oz angel hair pasta
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
2-3 tbsp garlic salt (or fresh)
1 cup cooked ham cubed or chopped
3 tbsp butter
2 egg yolks beaten
2-3 tbsp parsley (I used dried)
1/2 cups grated parmesan cheese

Directions:
Cook past according to directions. Meanwhile in a large skillet, saute onion in oil. Add ham, water, and garlic (or garlic salt), and butter and heat through. Drain pasta, add to ham mixture. Add egg yolks and cook until egg is completely set. Sprinkle with parsley and parmesan cheese and toss. Enjoy.
