I have really tiny girls just in case you didn't know that. They are both very small and have always been that way. I was in no way shocked when Audrey was 16 pounds and 27 1/2 inches long at her 12 month check up. That sounded about normal to me for her.
I was a little more concerned when we went for her 15 month check up with the pediatrician and she was 16 lbs 13 oz and 29 1/2 inches. Yep, she only gained 13oz in 3 months. Not really great if you ask me.
She isn't a real good eater. She likes to drink her milk and eat some but it is hit or miss when she will eat and what she will eat. I got tired of trying to feed her baby food and wasting money because she would not eat it. It also wasn't very fun having a face full of purred carrots every night and throwing money down the drain with all the wasted baby food. Therefore we started her on table food at about 7 months old.
We have always fed her similar versions of what we were eating. usually less spices than what we would eat. One day she would scarf down the food, the next day she wouldn't eat the thing she loved the night before.
Anyway, her pediatrician wanted her to come back for a weight check when she was 16 months. Well that appointment was today. I am happy to report that the little lady now weighs in at a whopping 17 lbs 14 oz. She has gained a whole pound and 1 ounce in 5 weeks. Well, this was before she had a huge blowout, but at least it made her pediatrician happy.

The weight gain sounds awesome! Good for her (and you)!
ReplyDeleteI read in your comment that one of your babies starts school today. I hope the day goes well for both of you. I'll be thinking about you!
