Not that Seattle is a bad place or anything, but this is Oklahoma and over 7 days of rain in a row is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Not that Mother Nature or God asked me or anything, but enough is enough.
Sorry, I digress.
So I am leaving work and get to the daycare to pick up Abby and it starts to sprinkle. I made a mad dash to get to Audrey’s daycare and get her when it starts. Yep, you guessed it, more rain.
Only this wasn’t just plain old rain. Oh no, the storms had to go out with a bang. And a bang it did. I have never heard thunder so loud that it rattled the windows in my vehicle before. The lightening was so bright that the whole sky was white for about 2 seconds.
Now I don’t normally have a real hard time driving in the rain, but I seriously contemplated the need to pull over to the side of the road, it was raining that hard. It let up enough to I could make it to the road we live on without having to pull over. As soon as I turned on to our road, you will never believe what I saw.

Yep, the most beautiful rainbow. It was actually a double rainbow but you can’t see the second one in the picture.
The last time I saw a rainbow was the day of my granny’s funeral. It was hot that day and started to rain on our way home that afternoon and then the rainbow appeared. It was like a sign from Heaven that Granny was alright.
This got me thinking a lot about my feelings the previous week about how upset I was when I woke up in the morning and it was raining. Again.
I think that even one day I prayed to God that the rain would stop. I was so tired of it. It didn't stop until God was ready for it to stop. I guess it proved that things work on His time and not mine. Not an easy concept to get as I have been trying my whole life to make things work on my time and not His.
So today I give thanks to God for rain and rainbows and would like to leave you thinking about this: There wouldn’t be any rainbows without the rain.

Well put, my friend. It is sooo hard to wait for God's timing especially in this fast paced world we live in but that is what we must do. Everything does work out for the best just in Gods time and not ours. May there be more rainbows in your future!
