Any mom (or dad for that matter) knows that kids ask questions. A LOT of questions. Why is the sky blue? Hey Mom, why do the birds sing? Why does the swing go back and forth? A LOT of questions.
A four year old's mind is amazing. Abby is constantly asking me questions. Just random things out of the blue. It always starts, "Mom, I need to tell you something." I am so not looking forward to that day when she is 16 and a conversation starts like that. Okay, back to present day. We were outside drawing with chalk on our front porch. We (as in me) drew a flower, an umbrella, and a blue and yellow bumblee bee (hey, they don't make black chalk). She decided that she wanted me to start writing all our family members names. We wrote Mom, Dad, Audrey and then she started on with the cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents the whole works. We got to uncle Brian and she asked me how I knew how to spell his name. I told her that it was on the mom test. "Do you remember the mom test" I asked her. "Oh yeah! I remember the mom test!" she replied and the questioning was ended. At least about how to spell things.
You see a few weeks ago, I got to the point that I really didn't know what to say to her when she started questioning things like how I knew how to make spaghetti. She is a persistent little lady and won't stop asking until she gets the answer that she wants so I (being the mom and all) created the mom test. It is a test that you have to pass before you can become a mom. I hope that when she is a mom she will use the mom test for herself.
It works. Trust me. Well, it works for now at least.

That is so cute. The mom test. I will have to use that the next time I am asked something from one of my boys. Great idea......
